In the category yearlings we won 1° Chevrain (354km) against 654 yearlings. The first prize winner is our new golden boy. Every pigeon fancier has got favorite racers. The favorite racer of Jos is without any doubt the checkered cock “Iron Man”(B17-6025089). As a young bird he did something very special. Because of the stormy weather on the first day the birds had to stay two nights in the basket for the Noyon (208km) race. They were released at noon while the temperature had already risen towards 30°C. They also had to deal with headwinds. In those extreme circumstances this cock won the 1° prize against 669 pigeons.. On top of that he had a lead of 7 minutes on his own loftmates and a lead of 9 minutes on birds of other participants. This spectacular performance totally convinced Jos. After this victory “Iron Man”(B17-6025089) crashed against the high tension wires. He had no life threatening injury but of course his season was finished. Then the year 2018 came. Right from the first middle distance race he was our first nominated pigeon. He did not disappoint at all by winning 28° / 2,072 pigeons. This weekend “Iron Man”(B17-6025089) could fly in his favorite weather circumstances: high temperatures and strong headwinds. He showed again why he is the favorite bird of Jos. He won 1° Chevrainvilliers (354km) against 654 birds!
It was not easy to take a picture of this checkered cock “Iron Man”(B17-6025089). It is not because he is a scared pigeon but he is so full of energy. He has got that special tension on his muscles and wings. The father of “Iron Man”(B17-6025089) is a direct Verkerk bird. He comes off their best breeders. The mother of “Iron Man”(B17-6025089) is “Mulan”(B09-6248277). She is a full sister to “Aladdin”(B09-6248081), 1° fast. In the Regio Mechelen Federation our first arrival was the blue hen B17-6025088. She was our third nominated pigeon. She wins 6° Chevrain (354km) 2,099 old birds.Two weeks before she already won 28° Melun (310km) 4,902 birds. Her full brother, the yearling B17-6025336, won already 1° Noyon (208km) 478 p. / 9° Melun (310km) 1,371 p. / 12° Ecouen (283km) 1,069 p. . They are descending from a new breeding couple, it looks promising for the future!
Our second race this weekend was the national Bourges (479km) race. Our first, second and third nominated old bird win 5°, 10° and 21° against 334 old birds in our strong club St. Job. We entered 6 old birds, 5 of them win a prize. We entered as well 10 yearlings and 8 of them won a prize card!
Our first arrival from the Bourges race was the beautiful blue hen B16-6032134. On the provincial level she wins 23° Provincial Bourges (479km) 2,651 birds. Her father is our current top long distance racer “Black Dragon”(B15-6026259). He won last year 1° S.-national Aurillac (712km) together with many other top prizes. Her mother is a half-sister to our famous breeder “Elektro”(B08-6174630).
