We had a race from Argenton(555km) and Pithiviers(373km).
It was difficult to race this weekend. In the beginning the birds did not made a lot of mpm. At the end they flew against a very high speed(because of a strong west wind). So the people who fly from the longest distance have a big advantage. And you have to know we race from one the most shortest distances... Another disadvantage: We live in the west, and the wind was mostly from the west. It's all part of the game you can say, but it's rather frustrating - knowing that your birds are in good condition.
But one of our best hens, "Dora"(B06-6270081), did a fantastic job. She will win the 12° semi-national from Argenton against 3,136 birds.
"Dora" is a very special bird! She's probably one of the most regularly birds of whole Belgium..
A short overview.
In 2007 she flew more than 7.500 kilometres!! She was 4th provincial Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen 450-750km.
In 2008 she will fly probably MORE than 8.000 kilometres!
She's always there. She never missed a price. Won 27 prizes in 2 years(on 27 races)!
Her pedigree is also fantastic. Her father("Prince" B02-6058324) is a direct son to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). "Iron Lady" won: 5x 1° price, 9° national Bourges 9.091 p., 27° national Bourges 10.520 p. . "Prince" is also father of "Mita": 1° Marne 1.227 p., 1° Melun 597 p., 97° national Bourges 21.940 p.,... The mother of "Dora" is "Sherryl"(B03-6287192). She won herself 1° Dourdan, 3° Toury, 5° semi-national Vierzon,... Fantastic bird. She's on her turn mother to "Clearwater"(6° prov. Chat. 2505 p.). And, "Sherryl" is grandmother to fantastic "Vichy I"(B05-6234216) who won 1° national z. Vichy(566km) 4.298 p., 3° national Vichy 11.022 p., 57° national Bourges 12.898 p., 43° national 5.621 p.!!!
In the combine we won with the old birds: 2, 9, 13, 15, 16, 22,...
with the yearlings: 6, 7, 15,...
We will have(on the semi-national level) 27 prizes from 38 entered birds!
From Pithiviers, "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063) was again our first bird. Pithiviers was not a good race("gone with the wind"). Some rising stars(youngsters) came back a day later.
Our birds flew Melun(310km) this weekend.
Last week "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063) won the 1° prize, this week he wins the 2° prize against 655 birds!! His father is a full brother to "Condor"(B06-6270031). We hope he can maintain this good form.
With the old birds, "Expresso"(B06-6270067) was again early.
With the young birds, we won the 2° prize against 1,104 birds(3° against 2,213 birds). This bird was B08-6144028. She's a direct daughter to superbreeder "Barco"(B01-6387350)!!! Also from the training races B08-6144028 has been our first bird. She's definetely a bird to keep an eye on.
Our first bird from Montlucon(555km) was "Silvia"(B06-6270183). She's a granddaughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350)! Our birds won 18 prizes from 23 entered birds!
Short briefing this week(because of a lack of time).
Yesterday the most important race of the year in the Netherlands, Blois, was flown.
Mr. De Ridder from Asperen won the 1° prize against no less than 66,762 birds!
The bird is for 25% a Hok Jos Vercammen bird!
The winner, "Wirramira"(NL06-5600483), is a real super bird.
As a yearling she was 1st Ace-pigeon semi-long distance!

The grandmother of this fantastic bird is 100% Vercammen. She's a full sister to our super birds "Mitu"(B02-6058048) and "Agassi"(B98-6350065). We don't need to present these birds, especially "Mitu". "Mitu" won himself 2° provincial Brive(707km). "Mitu" is also grandfather to 2 current top racers: "Favoriet"(B05-6234169) and "Rolex"(B06-6270302).

Finally Cahors(776km) was released today. The birds needed to stay in the basket for a whole week!
Our provincial winner from Brive(707km) 2 weeks ago, "Favoriet"(B05-6234169), was entered on this race. And again, he did a fantastic job.
Provincial he will win the 7° prize.
National he will end up approximately as 78° (and +/- 20° national in zone).

We played fanastic this weekend.
We entered birds on Marne La Vallée (300km) in Union Antwerpen.
Against 304 old birds: 1, 3, 4, 6, 8,... 13 prizes from 14 entered birds
Against 710 yearlings: 1, 10, 14,... 11 prizes from 16 entered birds
Young birds flew their first middle distance race. Against 673 young birds it became: 2, 3, 4,... and 32 prizes from 56 birds
It's almost impossible to do better.
1. Old birds
The bird that won the first prize with the old birds is "Callisto"(B06-6270275). A bird that is very "all-round". His previous race had a distance of 707km(Brive). He was entered on this race as first nominated and won the big money. As you can see in the pedigree, very close family to famous birds as "Barco"(B01-6387350) and "Porto"(B03-6287006).
The bird that won the 3° prize is "Campari"(B06-6270048). He's flying a very good season. Son to "Bacardi"(B03-6484744).
Our 3rd old bird was B06-6270152. Son to "Solo"(B04-6058005).
And our 4th old bird was our super bird "Rolex"(B06-6270302). Son to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) and "Luna"(B04-6058148).
And the bird that won the 8° is "Expresso"(B06-6270067).
As you can see, all the good birds were there.
2. Yearlings
The bird that won the first prize with the yearlings is "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063). He is also the 1° fastest 2,922 birds! His father is a full brother to "Condor"(B06-6270031).
Our promising yearling "Messi"(B07-6221283) won the 10° prize. Son "Bosko"(B03-6287052) x "Mariska"(02-00825499).
3. Young birds
Our first young bird(won the 2° prize) is B08-6144100. A daughter to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) x "Siri"(B06-6411619). "Siri" is a daughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350). Fantastic bloodline. B08-6144100 is our favourite young bird.
The bird that won the 3° prize is B08-6144025. He's a direct son to "Porto"(B03-6287006) x "Lara"(B06-6411588). Also "Lara" is a daughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350).
And the youngster that won the 4° prize is B08-6144040. A full sister to "Porto"(B03-6287006)!!!

From Chateauroux(526km) in the club:
2, 3, 7, 11, 20,... 5 prizes from the 7 entered birds
The first bird was "Kirby"(B06-6270317). She is also a daughter to "Barco"(B01-6387350). "Barco" is really a dominant breeder.
The old hens flew again semi-long distance, Chateauroux(526km).
Against 266 old birds they won: 2, 8, 18, 22, 28,... 6 prizes from 8 entered birds. All the good nominated were there. The 4 first nominated old birds won in top 100 provincial (1,746 birds).
The yearlings won 9 prizes from 11 entered birds. Also here the 5 first nominated.
You may wonder, why is the number of entered birds(266 p. / 301 p.)) so low? The wind has been straight on the head for 6 weeks now. Rain, hot weather, the birds needed to deal with all this circumstances. Many birds got lost, and multiple fanciers just needed to stop racing.
Our first bird won the 2° prize. It was "Sevo"(B06-6270171). She has the potential to win very early prizes. She won already a 1° prize from Noyon(208km) and the 30° national from La Souterraine(593km). She's a daughter to "Outlook"(B04-6058199) and granddaughter to "Vanessa"(B98-6350130). The nest-sister of "Sevo" is "Miss Salbris"(B06-6270170). She is every week our first nominated, and wins the big money. She has already got great racing records. She won a 1° provincial, 5° provincial, 27° national( different races),... "Miss Salbris" won this race the 22° prize, and won the big money.
Our second bird from Chateauroux was "Dora"(B06-6270081). Last year 4th Ace Union Antwerpen semi-long distance. She's a granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
We entered also a few birds on Toury(382km). "Rolex"(B06-6270302)(17° prize) and "Picasso"(B07-6221319)(27° prize) managed to fly again in first 10%. Potential aces.
Our youngsters were entered for the first time this year. Against 341 youngsters they won from Noyon(208km): 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12,...
Our first bird from this race was B08-6144085. Father is Solo(B04-6058005), 3rd Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen and mother is "Yula"(B03-6287035), daughter to "Iron Lady".
Second bird was B08-6144092. Son "Aruna"(B02-6058088) and grandson "Beckham"(B01-6387174) and "Luna"(B04-6058148). A sister of "Porto"(B03-6287006), B08-6144040, won the 8° prize.
This weekend our racing team performed excellent!
Let's start with Brive(706km). The birds needed stay in the basket for ne less than 4 days! The weather conditions were difficult: changing wind, fog, rain. All this made Brive a difficult - but honest - race.
We entered just 5 birds.
"Favoriet"(B05-6234169) won the 1° provincial Brive(707km) 1,253 pigeons!!!
He did a great job. He arrived in a very good condition, like he just flew a short distance race.
Last year we couldn't race him much. He was meant to fly national Limoges and national Souillac but because of the bird flu these races were cancelled. Too bad for "Favoriet". He received this name because he was our favourite pigeon, already from he was a young bird. He 'looks like a dynamo'.
The pedigree of "Favoriet" is filled with our famous birds. His father is grandson to basic pigeon "Panter"(B86-6056506) and son to double provincial winner "Gella"(B97-6145059). The mother of "Favoriet" is "Luna"(B04-6058148). "Luna" is a special bird. From a very difficult La Souterraine(593km) she won the 1° semi-national (4° / 6,874 pigeons)! "Luna" is - besides "Favoriet" - also mother to our best current pigeon "Rolex"(B06-6270302). "Luna" on her turn is a daughter to "Mitu"(B02-6058048), 2° provincial Brive 757 p. .
But another of our 5 entered birds flew in the very top of the race. "Elmar"(B06-6270206) won 13° provincial Brive(707km) 1,253 pigeons! He won already 2° provincial Gueret(586km) 1,724 pigeons! He's a son to "New Panter"(B05-6452528) x "Milka"(B05-6234189).

Our hens flew Issoudun(504km). It was a very difficult race. 50% of the fanciers's birds was not home at the end of the day. Even now many (very good) birds are missing. Luckily 32 of our 34 birds returned(all the best ones). In the combine we began with 2, 4, 10, 13 against 546 yearlings. On the provincial leve we had 6, 14, 27, 50,... against 2,300 yearlings. Semi-national we play 10, 21, 37,... against 5,791 birds!
Our first bird was B07-6221074. She's a half-sister of "Vichy II"(B05-6234202) and granddaughter to "Beauty"(B05-6234009) and "Mitu"(B02-6058048). Second bird was B07-6221080, daughter to the couple "Bacardi"(B03-6484744) x (again!) "Beauty"(B05-6234009). And our third bird(B07-6221249) is a granddaughter to "Panter"(B86-6056506).
Our other cocks flew Toury(382km). And yes, top performer "Rolex"(B06-6270302) was again there! Now he won the 2° prize against 251 birds. This son to "Beckham"(B01-6387174) x "Luna"(B04-6058148) is an amazing bird. Last year 1st Ace Union Antwerpen keeps performing.

"Favoriet"(B05-6234169) was the the big winner this weekend.
He is a son to "Luna"(B04-6058148), grandson "Mitu"(B02-6058048). He's also a half-brother to our super "Rolex"(B06-6270302) who won the 2° prize this weekend.
From Issoudun(504km) we also played very well.
On the semi-national level we had 4 pigeons in top 50. We begin against 5,791 birds with 10, 21, 37,... First bird was B07-6221074. Half-sister of "Vichy II"(B05-6234202).
Every first bird on every race this weekend was a grandchild to "Mitu"(B02-6058048).

This weekend there were 2 races: Pithiviers(373km) and Bourges(479km).
But first the weather circumstances: 25° C, cloudy and a very very strong wind on the head.
It was a pleasure to see the birds arriving.
Our old birds won in Union Antwerpen against 270 old birds: 8, 9, 12, 20, 26, 31, 33, 86. We entered just 8 birds, so we score a 100% prize! The 8°, 9° and 12° prize were our 1st, 2nd and 3rd nominated!
On the overall result they won against 442 old birds: 11, 12, 16, 31,…
Our yearlings did even better. They won against 511 birds: 1, 2, 11, 31, 38,… We had 17 prizes from 26 entered birds.
On the overall result, 812 yearlings in the race: 1, 2, 23,…
In both races, with yearlings and old cocks, we won all the big money that was present.
We had the 1° + 2° fastest bird in Union Antwerpen (1,254 birds in the race).
As said our 3 first nominated old birds won 8°, 9°, 12°. It are all 3 very good and reliable birds.
"Campari”(B06-6270048) won the 8° prize. He won this year also 8° against 1,051 birds. He’s a son to “Bacardi”(B03-6484744) and grandson “Iron Lady”(B97-6145223).
“Rolex”(B06-6270302) won the 9° prize. He’s an amazing bird. He’s really always to be found in the head of the race. You might know that he is a son to “Beckham”(B01-6387174) x “Luna”(B04-6058148).
And “Expresso”(B06-6270067) was the winner of the 12° prize. For the moment he’s outstanding. This cock won the 4 first weeks of the middle distance following prizes.

She’s a very nice black hen. Father is brother to “Mariska”(02-00825499), mother is daughter “Iron Lady”(B97-6145223).
"Witte"(B07-6221028) was the winner of the 2° prize against 812 birds(2° fastest 1,254 p.). He’s the favourite pigeon of Ilke, the youngest member of the Vercammen team. He’s doing it very good this year. He always wins in the first 10%. He’s (again) a grandson to “Barco”(B01-6387350).
And yes, “Picasso”(B07-6221319) was again there. Now he won the 11° prize. He’s the type of pigeon we like. Always early, reliable and never tired when he returned from a race. He won 3 weeks in a row the big money in Union Antwerpen! Also he is a grandson to “Barco”(B01-6387350).
Now a little bit more about Bourges. We didn’t play many birds on this races because in the region of Bourges there were thunderstorms predicted. But our 9 old birds did it well.
They won in the combine against 428 birds: 6, 17, 25, 32,…
On the provincial level we have 6 prizes on 9 entered birds.
The bird that won the 6° prize was our first nominated and wins the big money. It was “Miss Salbris”(B06-6270170). She won already 1° provincial Salbris(454km) and more of that! She’s a grandchild to “Vanessa”(B98-6350130). Mother is a half-sister to “Barco”(B01-6387350).

Our birds flew Dourdan(366km) and a couple flew Vierzon(476km).
But first the weather from past weekend. Normally the birds flew on Saturday. But there was really to much fog and it was also rainig all day long. So the races were postponed until Sunday. A day later the weather in Belgium improved. The weather in France was even worse as the day before. All races from 200-300km were delayed. But Dourdan and Vierzon were released. So the birds needed to fly for at least 100km in the rain. No wonder, it became a very bad race. People lost birds(sometimes even their best ones). Luckily al our birds returned.
For a race where birds had to deal with heavy rainfail, our birds did well!l
We started with the 14° and 22° prize against 532 old birds. 14 prizes from 22 entered birds.
Against 907 yearlings our birds won 10, 12, 14, 17, 18, ... 30 / 47 (prize percentage)
We won (again) the big money against the old birds AND against the yearlings.
Our first old bird was "Expresso"(B06-6270067). He wins 3 weeks in a row in the top 16 in Unin Antwerpen! He's a grandson to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). A full sister of him was 3rd Belgian Ace-pigeon in the famous Sun City Million Dollar Race(South Africa).
Our second old bird was "Breitling"(B06-6270259). Also grandson "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
Our first yearling was B07-6221167. She performed well so far so good. For Bourges coming week she will be our first nominated.
Our second yearling was B06-6221134, a grandson of "Petra"(B95-6300210) and great-grandson to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
And our third yearling was B07-6221251. She's a direct daughter to "Bacardi"(B03-6484744) x "Beauty"(B05-6234009). She's a granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
We entered just some birds on Vierzon. 5 old birds as a preparation flight for races as Brive(706km). And 3 yearling, so that they can gain some experience. We had the 10° and 18° prize in St. Job.
And to end, again a topresult with Vercammen birds. Leon en Chris Vandenbrandt(Zandhoven) won on this Vierzon the 2° provincial against 1,314 birds(7° semi-national against 5,080 p.). This yearling is partly a Vercammen bird! Our congragulations!
Next week it's Bourges(479km) and Pithiviers(373km).
As already said, the B06-6173124 of Kris Cleirbaut won the first prize against 1,704 pigeons from Melun. This bird was also the fastest of all the 5,307 old birds of province Antwerp! This bird is a 50% Vercammen bird.
Another fancier(Jos Ielegems)had the fastest bird of the province from Melun. There were 12,425 entered! This bird was a full brother to the 50% Vercammen bird that was fastest of 5,307 birds!!
The weather conditions yesterday. Hot and a strong east-southeast wind. So wind on the head.
Our team flew again Melun(310km). We said the condition of the birds was improving week by week. And yes, the result was again better than the week before.
The birds flew in Union Antwerpen.
Our old birds started with a 8° and 15° prize against 1,051 birds. The first old bird was "Campari"(B06-6270048). He's a son to a very good breeder, "Bacardi"(B03-684744). "Bacardi" is a son to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). He's for instance father to "Belle"(B05-6234020), "Pepsi"(B05-6234021) and grandfather to "F24 Black Widow"(B07-6282339). The second old bird was "Expresso"(B06-6270067). Also last week he was in the head of the race. He is also family to "Iron Lady", he's a grandson.
Our first yearling(and also first arrival) won the 3° against 2,323 birds. It was "Messi"(B07-6221283). Also last week he was our first bird(winning the 4° against 1,169 p.). We think he has the full potential to become one of our leading pigeons! He's a son to strong racer “Bosko”(B03-6287052) x top breeding hen “Mariska”(02-00825499). These two birds do not need further presentation. On 2 races "Messi" has a racing coefficient of 0.46! Our second yearling won the 10°. It was "Picasso"(B07-6221319). Also he was last week in the head of the race. He won the big money. "Picasso" is a grandson to "Barco"(B01-6387350). Our third bird was "Kleine Prins"(B07-6221063). He won the 15° prize. He was also early last week. Our 3 first yearlings are all three very promising. Being early two weeks in a row, in difficult circumstances...
We had a very high prize percentage. Yesterday, 69 birds were basketted and 50 won a prize!
To end. Our birds performed yesterday very good on other lofts.
The B06-6173124 of Kris Cleirbaut won the first prize against 1,704 pigeons from Melun. This hen will be probably the fastest bird of Antwerp. She is a 50% Vercammen bird(father is 100% Vercammen)! Also last year this hen performed very good(a.o. 10° national Bourges).
And yesterday there was also a first prize winner at the loft of the Dutch combination Roegiest-Visser. One of their birds, NL06-0741806, won the 1° against 1,500 birds, 7 minutes ahead! Provincial this bird will win 15° against 10,000 birds! Also this bird has got Vercammen blood in her veins.
Our hens will fly next week the semi-national race Vierzon(476km). Also a part of the cocks will be entered on this race.
The other part of the cocks will fly Dourdan(366km).
Past Saturday it was the first middle distance race of the season. The birds were entered for Melun(310km). The form of the birds is improving week by week!
Our old birds won 19 prizes from 28 entered birds. Result against 929 birds: 7, 8, 16, 23, 33,…
Two of our best old cocks won the 7° and 8° prize. It were B05-6234276 and “Rolex”(B06-6270302). “Rolex” won also the big money in Union Antwerpen.
B05-6234276 is a son from “Lou”(95-07348689) x “Martina”(B99-6448145). “Martina” won 8 times 1° with a.o. 1° provincial Vierzon(475km)! And besides that, she’s also a direct daughter to our basic pigeon “Panter”(B86-6056506). Also in China, children of “Martina” are having success.
“Rolex” is our very best cock. Last year he was by far the best in Union Antwerpen. So he became 1st Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen 2007! He’s a son to “Beckham”(B01-6387174) x “Luna”(B04-6058148).
Further more, the yearlings started with the 4° against 1,169 birds. We won 27 prizes from 50 entered birds. The result against 1,169 birds: 4, 25, 26, 31,… The first bird was B07-6221283. He’s a son to 2 super birds. His father is “Bosko”(B03-6287052). Excellent bird on the semi-long distance and (once again) a son to “Barco”(B01-6387350). The mother of 283/07 is “Mariska”(02-00825499). She’s a.o. mother to “Porto”(B03-6287006) and “Tibo”(B04-6058030). Our second bird was “Picasso”(B07-6221319). We think he will be our best yearling this year. He is also again a grandson to “Barco”. And our third yearling was B07-6221167. Two weeks ago she was our first bird. As you can see, “Beckham” and “Barco” keep returning every week. They are very dominant breeders in our loft.
Next week it’s again Melun.
Last Sunday our birds were again entered for Noyon(208km).
The birds came home well. We had a prize percentage from 70%. We were satisfied.
Our first bird was "Breitling"(B06-6270259). He is a son from the couple "Blue Boy"(B05-6234296) x "Cora"(B04-6058023). "Blue Boy" is a new breeder and a son to (once again) "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). "Cora" was a very good racing hen. But most of all, she is a half-sister to famous "Beckham"(B01-6387174). "Breitling" is a very consistent bird.
Our second bird was "Callisto"(B06-6270275). His father is "Lecleir"(B04-6058303), a son of that of "Vanessa"(B98-6350130). That means that "Lecleir" is a half-brother to that other super breeder, "Barco"(B01-6387350). The mother of "Callisto" is "Lydia"(B05-6234092), a full sister to "Porto"(B03-6287006). "Callisto" is a very good cock, especially on the 600km races.
Coming week the birds will fly their first middle distance race of the year, Melun(310km).
Last Sunday our birds were entered for Noyon(208km).
It was a bad race, because of the heav fog where the pigeons had to deal with. Not few fanciers lost birds. Fortunately, all our birds returned.
But we didn't have a good result.
Our first bird won the 8° prize. It was the hen B07-6221167. Her father is a full brother to super breeding hen "Mariska"(02-00825499). Her mother is "Daffy"(B02-6058079). She is mother to "Petacchi"(B03-6287157), winner against thousands of birds!
Next week the birds will fly Noyon(208km). The week after, it's the "real" start of the season.

Past Sunday it was the first race of the season, Quievrain(100km). The pigeons came above exspactions! Because now, it's actually just training.
We won no less than 8 prizes in the 16 first! And the good birds came first. Our 3 first birds were "Rolex"(B06-6270302), "Dora"(B06-6270081) and "Casio"(B07-6221006).

"Dora" was last year 4th Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen semi-long distance(provincial). She won always in the top 12 last year! "Sherryl" is a first prize winner and grandmother to super hen "Vichy I"(B05-6234216).
And "Casio" is the big promise of 2008. As a youngster he won already 1° Melun(310km) 704 p. ! He is also a son to "Beckham"(B01-6387174). But now with "Chalala"(B05-6234500). "Chalala" is a daughter to superbreeder "Barco"(B01-6387350). "Chalala" is also mother to our best hen 2007 "Silvia"(B06-6270183).
As you may have read, "Beckham" is father to our first bird("Rolex") and our third bird("Casio").
Furthermore, he is father to "Beauty"(B05-6234009), 2° national Argenton(555km) 21,299 pigeons(2° fastest 30,045 p.) ! No wonder "Beckham" is one of the "crown jewels" of our loft. Also in Germany, China,... children of "Beckham" have proven their great deal of potential.

Too bad we lost him on a catastropic race. But one of the few youngsters we had from him became father from our famous "Deco"(B01-6387351). Who on his turn became father to "Porto"(B03-6287006)!
Did you know that Houben's well known "Pinocchio"(B98-6210287) is closely related to "Cosco" and "Deco"? The mother of "Pinocchio" is "Tiffany"(B96-3121904) and an 100% Vercammen bird! "Tiffany" is a half-sister to "Cosco".

A day or two ago, we heard some great news.
Mr. Astère van Heuverswijn(a Belgian fancier) sent me this:
Mr. Somchai Apichartpraclup won the famous “Thailand Open One Loft Race”. The price money this bird won is no less than 1 000 000 Bath. The bird was sold for 1 200 000 Bath!! (1 000 000 Bath = +/- 25 000 Euro)
The mother of this bird is a 100% Jos Vercammen bird!!(through Van Heuverswijn).
This 100% Vercammen bird has got following pedigree:
Father: son from “Aruna”(B02-6058088) x “Mercedes”(B01-6387071).
Mother: daughter from “Kleine Bugno”(B99-6448217) x "Little Vanessa”(B02-6058075).
Our breeding cock “Aruna” has already bred an incredible off spring. Also on other lofts.

Last week we received two e-Mayls from 2 young American fanciers.
1.
Mr. Richard Banzon participated at the Mercedes Classic One Loft Race.
The race was 480km long and 519 birds were left for the final race. Richard won the 1° prize with a 100% Vercammen bird!
This bird(AU-07-Arpu-80829) is a grandchild to two fantastic breeders of us: "Barco"(B01-6387350) and "Agassi"(B98-6350065).
2.
Mr. Elton Dinga participated at the Texas Gusher One Loft Race.
Also the distance of this race was 480km. 220 birds were entered. Elton won also the 1°, now with a 50% Vercammen bird.
The father, 100% Vercammen, is a full brother to "Clearwater"(B04-6058195) and a daughter top very good breeding hen "Sherryl"(B03-6287192). "Sherryl" is a.o. grandmother to super racer "Vichy I"(B05-6234216). "Vichy I" won a.o. 1° national z. Vichy(566km) 4,298 p.!
the father of the Texas 1° prize winner, the 100% Vercammen cock, is also father to a young cock which was 1st Ace-bird at the Fly for Life race Florida!

"Bacardi" is a son to legendary "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
"Bacardi" is also a half-brother to "Deco"(B01-6387351) who is on his turn the father to "Porto"(B03-6287006). "Porto" is as you may know, 4th National Ace-pigeon KBDB middle distance.
As you can see, good blood never lies.

"Arnaud" is also grandfather to "Petacchi"(B03-6287157), who was Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen and won the 1° from Dourdan(357km) against 3,075 birds!
A very good hen on the semi-long distance that performed in every kind of weather.

We receive on a very regular base, results from fanciers who achieve very good results with offspring of our birds.
Some of them are really fantastic. We'll present you some.
Some days ago, Mr. Boris Sovic from Slovenia e-Mayled us.
In the fall of 2002 he visited our lofts. He bought just one bird: B02-6058069. A dark hen, full sister to "Mitu"(B02-6058048), "Agassi"(B98-6350065), "Lia"(B00-6249019),...
He sent us the breeding results of this bird. It is really amazing. We never saw something like that. How her children performed, is unseen. Almost unique.
Because he wrote it in the German language, we'll give you the most important info(in English).
Mr. Sovic bred directly out of this hen 5 national ace-pigeons! And that in just 4 years time! Which bird ever did better?

In 2004 this cock became 4th national Ace-pigeon Slovenia middle distance.

SLO-107-2004-713 became 5th national Ace-pigeon Slovenia allround.
In 2006 this cock became 2nd national Ace-pigeon Slovenia short distance.
In 2007 this cock became 7th national Ace-pigeon Slovenia allround.
You can say that at least that these breeding records are remarkable. 5 children were at least one time national ace! Really impressing...
As already said this breeding hen is a full sister to "Mitu"(B02-6058048) and "Agassi"(B98-6350065). Also at our loft this bloodline has proven their strength, especially in difficult conditions. Some other birds from this family.
"Luna"(B04-6058148) is a daughter from "Mitu"(B02-6058048). "Luna" won from a disastrous La Souterraine(593km) the 1° semi-national.
A son of "Luna", "Rolex"(B06-6270302), became 1st Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen. He was without any doubt the most consistent and solid bird of the entire Union Antwerpen.
"Tibo"(B04-6058030) is a son from "Agassi"(B98-6350065). He also became ace-bird Union Antwerpen and was also the fastest bird against 11,313 birds from Toury(382km)!
"Tibo" became on his turn father to "Silvia"(B06-6270183). A real tophen! Super racing records!
These are just a few examples.

The third bird that we are going to present is “Beckham”(B01-6387174). He’s a member of the “magic 2001-generation”, just like “Barco”(B01-6387350) and “Deco” (B01-6387351). He’s a son of B00-6249328. This cock is a grandson to “Yasmine”(B90-6244831), probably of on the best hens that ever flow in Belgium. “Yasmine” flew three years. Every year she was first ace-pigeon! Especially on hard races – 1100 mpm caliber – she was unbeatable.
The mother of “Beckham” is “Lucy”(B00-6249033). She’s granddaughter to two top breeders. Her first grandfather is “Kleine Panter”(B94-6522251). A son of basic pigeon “Panter”(B86-6056506). “Kleine Panter” is father to a.o. “Petra”(B95-6300210), another outstanding hen. She excelled on 500-600km races. She was for many years “the big money winner”. The second grandfather to “Lucy” is famous “Nationaal 1”(B86-6260314). A Karel Schellens bird.
“Beckham” was a very talented racer. In the third season of his career he won on the 1° provincial from Argenton(555km) against 2,166 pigeons. Fastest of whole release against 3,973 birds. Weather conditions: strong wind from the nord and hot(more than 30°C). He won early prizes from 200 till 750km!
In 2005 he was put on the breeding loft, coupled with the nest-sister of “Bosko”(B03-6287052). The first two youngsters he gave were: “Beauty”(B05-6234009) and “Snellie”(B05-6234010). We don’t need to present you “Beauty”. She won 2° national Argenton(555km) 21,299 birds(2° fastest 30,045 birds). However she’s stil young, we already have some very good children from her. “Beauty” her nest-brother is “Snellie”, a very solid bird who already bred well.
In 2006 we coupled him with another hen, “Luna”(B04-6058148). She’s a daughter to “Mitu”(B02-6058048). That year “Beckham” became father of “Rolex”(B06-6270302). “Rolex” became in 2007 1st ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen middle distance!
In 2007 he was again coupled with another hen. Now with “Chalala”(B05-6234500), a full sister to “Bosko”(B03-6287052) and daughter to “Barco”(B01-6387350). We raced 4 youngsters of this couple. One of them, B07-6221006, won already 1° Melun(310km) 704 p. . The 3 other are great prospects for next year!
To which hen he will “Beckham” mated in 2008, we don’t know yet. But is seems that he gives good babies with every hen.
“Beckham” is one of the pillars of our colony. But also in countries like China and Germany his offspring is doing it very good.
Today we’ll put a second bird in the spotlight. This bird is “Barco”(B01-6387350). The picture you are seeing now is a new one. Made by another photographer.
Just like “Deco”(B01-6387351), “Barco” is a summeryoungster 2001.
His pedigree is – to use a popular saying – “the cream of the crop”. His father is “Pink Panter”(B99-6448053). A grandson to legendary “Panter”(B86-6056506). His mother is “Vanessa”(B98-6350130), one of the best hens we ever had. From 400 to 750km she was really outstanding. As you can see in the pedigree, “Barco” is on the father and mother side closely related to basic pigeon “Panter”.
Brothers and sisters of “Barco” are doing it also very well.
A full sister, “Melissa”(B01-6387199), won 8 times a first prize with a.o. 1° provincial Chateauroux(526km) 2,745 p. .
A half-brother, “Franky”(B02-6058050), won a first prize on Blois(462km).
A half-sister, “Pink Lady”(B06-6270315), won this year 1° national z. La Souterraine(593km) 1,578 p. and 2° national 4,314 birds!
Another half-sister, B06-6270052, won also in 2007 the first prize on Leipzig(529km).
This are just a few examples. You can also notice that it are particularly (hard) races from 500-750km.
In 2003, “Barco” got his ticket to the breeding loft. His 2 first babies: “Bosko”(B03-6287052) and “Mother Beauty”(B03-6287053).

This week the final national result from Gueret(590km) was published.
National our old birds win 7 prizes in the top 100. They win 22 prizes from 25 entered birds(only 25% of all the entered birds win a prize).
But let's go back to "Deco".
He was born in the summer of 2001. He's the son of B98-6350076 x "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
B98-6350076 is a direct son of "Cosco", a mighty racer on the long distance races. Unfortunately we lost him on a catastrophic race and we had only one baby from him.
Did you know that famous "Pinocchio" from Houben is 50% Vercammen and closely related to "Deco"? If you click on this link, you'll see in the pedigree below that the mother of "Pinocchio" is a half-sister to "Cosco". And "Cosco" is the grandfather to... "Deco".
In January 2003 he had his first babies, mated with "Mariska"(02-00825499). The first child was "Porto"(B03-628706), 4th national Ace-pigeon KBDB middle distance!
Later that year he became also father to "Gina"(B03-6287244), an excellent breeding hen!

Last weekend the last race of the season, Gueret(590km), was kept.
Our old hens were entered again. They flew in 2007 more than 7,500 kilometres! They flew every week, from the beginning of April till September. People say it's amazing.
This raced they needed to fly almost 9 hours. Arrival was in the evening. When it was dark, 25% of the birds was home. At that time, all our hens were home(25 birds of the 25).
In the club they win 2, 3, 7, 9, 13, 14, 15,...
Provincial against 405 birds they win 11, 14, 26, 29, 37, 38, 40, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56,... 20 prizes of 25 entered birds.
National against 2,448 birds they'll win probably 20, 25, 34, 42, 56, 58, 65,... probably 23 prizes from 25 birds.
The people who make results for the province of Antwerp, forgot to pass on our arrivals. So we we were published just one time in the top 70 national. It should be 7 times.
Our first old bird was B06-6270223. Last week she was our 2nd bird from La Souterraine. She is an excellent hen on 600km races.
In her career she flew 4 600km races. 4 times excellent.
Our second bird was "Miss Salbris"(B06-6270170). She won some weeks ago 1° provincial from Salbris(454km).
Our third bird was B06-6270081. She became this year 4th Ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen on the semi-long distance. She's a granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223), and daughter to very good breeder "Prince"(B02-6058324).
Our fourth bird was "Jericha"(B05-6234046). She's doing it good on the national races in August the last 2 years.
Our fifth bird was B06-6270052. She won this year the 1° from Leizpig(529km) and is a full sister to "Pink Lady"(B06-6270315). "Pink Lady" won previous race from La Souterraine the 1° national z.!
Our sixth old hen was "Renske"(B06-6270090). A birds that likes to fly in extreme weather conditions.
And our seventh hen was B06-6270096. Before she flew also very well.

Soon our most important championships will be published. We're for example 1st General Champion(over all) Union Antwerpen with yearlings on the middle distance.
Also a bird will be regurlary placed in the spotlight. A picture, breeding and racing information,...

Last weekend national La Souterraine(593km) was flown. It was a hard race. They pigeons flew hardly 1150 mpm and they arrived in the evening.
Our old hens(we entered 26 of them) were still on eggs.
We also entered 28 youngsters, as already said "not the best ones".
"Pink Lady"(B06-6270315) was the great star this weekend. She won from La Souterraine:
1° provincial 700 birds...1° national z. +/- 2,000 birds... 2° national 4,331 birds!
She's a daughter of "Pink Panter"(B99-6448053) x "Merlina"(B99-6448220). As you can see, a great pedigree. She's a half-sister to super racers/breeders as "Barco"(B01-6387350), "Melissa"(B01-6387199), "Emilio"(B01-6387066), "Campina"(B03-6287031). The full sister of "Pink Lady", B06-6270052, won this year from Leipzig(529km) the 1° prize. "Pink Lady" won on Leizpig(other direction Germay because of bird flu) the 3° prize.
"Pink Lady" is hen that performs especially in extreme weather conditions. It even may be "catastrophic races". On Vierzon of May 2007(a true disaster) she won early.
She won in two years 17 prizes on 18 race.
The old hens won provincial: 1, 16, 30, 35, 46,... 18 prizes from 26 entered birds.
National it will be probably 20 prizes from 26 birds. We'll begin with 2° national(1° national z.).
We'll have about 5 old birds in top 100 national.
These other 4 birds are:
1. B06-6270171. Her nest-sister, "Miss Salbris"(B06-6270170), won last week 1° provincial from Salbris(454km).
2. B06-6270223. Very good hen on 600km races.
3. B06-6270286. Full sister to "Solo"(B04-6058005).
4. B06-6270306. Full sister to "Porto"(B03-6287006).
Our first youngster(B07-6221032) won the 3° prize from 486 birds. She's a granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223). On Bourges she came home a few days later and La Souterraine was her 2nd race.
National we might have 16 prizes from 28 birds. Not bad flown by the youngsters, after we took away the 40 "best".
In two weeks the last race of the season is kept, Gueret(586km).
Our old hens and 19 youngsters flew last weekend Salbris(454km).
It was not our plan to enter the old hens on this race. They are on eggs and didn't flew from the whole week. Just a 100km training race. That was all.
We were suprised with the good result.
They won 1°, 2° and 3° provincial!!
Our first bird was "Miss Salbris"(B06-6270170). Also last year she was one the same race very early. Her nest-sister, B06-6270171, flew this year also a first prize. Another sister of her, "Expressa"(B05-6234124), flew very early national on Vichy. Their father, B04-6058199, seems to be a very good breeder.
Our second bird was B06-6270213. This year she flew from a very difficult Chateauroux, very early. She's a granddaughter to super "Petra"(B95-6300210).
Our third bird was B06-6270070. She was lost on the catastrophic Vierzon but returned 2 weeks later. So she only could fly the last races of the season. She's the nest-sister of B06-6270069 and also a granddaughter to "Petra"(B95-630210).
In the club they won 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10
We stopped our 40 most promising youngsters(cocks and hens together). There were too much bad races and we wouldn't like to take other risks. The other birds will fly probably La Souterraine and Gueret. A part of these birds flew Salbris and made 14 prizes of 19 entered birds.
In the club they win against 234 birds: 14, 16, 21, 26,...
This weekend there was a race from Argenton(555km).
Normally they should have been released on Saturday. But because of fog,... they flew on Monday. 4 days in the basket!
Our old birds won 3 prizes on 4 entered birds, our 3 first nominated. National it might be 3 prizes in the first 10%. They won in the club the 7°, 11° and 25° prize.
Our first old bird was B05-6234010, the nest-brother of "Beauty"(B05-6234009).
Our second old bird was "Akin"(B04-6058079), who recently became ace-pigeon in the club on the semi-long distance.
We entered just 11 young birds. But we were a little bit unlucky.
Our first youngster arrived 14h30. It would have won in the top 15 national. Unfortunately, it kept flying around the loft almost 6 minutes long!
It must have won the first prize in our club, 5 minutes ahead. Now she wins the 3° prize against 453 birds. National it will be +/- 67° against 20,921 birds.
This young hen was B07-6221049. She has a great pedigree. Her father is "Deco"(B01-6387351), the father of "Porto"(B03-6287006). Her mother is "Judy"(B04-6058078), a daughter to super breeding hen "Lucy"(B00-6249033).
Also from the difficult Heidelberg, B07-6221049 flew very well.
The young hens win 7 prizes from the 11 entered birds.
The end of the racing season is approaching so more and more championships are known.
Here a brief summary.
1.
In Union Antwerpen we are 1st general champion middle distance yearlings.
Also we had the 1st ace-pigeon of Union Antwerpen with the yearlings. Of course it was our "Rolex"(B06-6270302) who won this. We've told you already a lot about him. He's a son of "Beckham"(B01-6387174) x "Luna"(B04-6058148). He had quite a big lead on the other birds.
One of our old birds(we raced just 3 of them on middle distance) became 7th ace-pigeon Union Antwerpen. It was B05-6234159, a very reliable bird.
2.
In the club(Fond 2001 St. Job) where we play the semi-long distance races, also some championships are known.
We are 2nd general champion semi-long distance yearlings.
We have also a bunch of ace-pigeons.
With the old birds, we have 3rd, 4th and 5th ace-pigeon.
The 3rd ace-pigeon is "Jericha"(B05-6234046). She's a very good racing hen. Bourges seems her favourite race. Every time she's early on this race.
The 4th ace-pigeon is "Pepsi"(B05-6234021). She was every time our first nominated bird. A granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
The 5th ace-pigeon is "Akin"(B04-6058079). In his last racing season he performed very well. On the catastrophic Vierzon of the beginning of the season for example, he won the 4° prize.

The 4th ace-pigeon is "Silvia"(B06-6270183). She is without any doubt our best bird the last 2 years on the semi-long distance.
The 7th ace-pigeon is B06-6270052. Three weeks ago she won the 1° from Leipzig(526km).
The 8th ace-pigeon was B06-6270081. She's (again) a granddaughter to "Iron Lady"(B97-6145223).
Again two races were held last weekend: Le Mans(471km) and Dourdan(366km).
It was strange weather. It took hours before 33% of all the pigeons returned to their lofts.

On Le Mans two of our top youngsters were in the head of the race.
B07-6221250 won the 2° against 454 youngsters. Provincial the 15° against 2,091 p. . Also last week on Marne(296km) she flew well. She's a direct daughter of "Bacardi"(B03-6484744) x "Beauty"(B05-6234009). Again a child of "Beauty" you may think. Indeed, however she's still very young, she's already one of our top breeding hens. Another example of her breeding skills: We bred 4 young hens from her. All 4 flew well and will be certainly a member of theracing team next year.
B07-6221069 was our second bird. She won the 9° prize. She was our first nominated(she won the big money). Last week she was our first bird(also as first nominated). We think that she'll be next year one of our leading birds.

On Dourdan we begin with the 11° against 1,192 birds. It was a young cock B07-6221019 who won this prize. He's a full brother to "Expresso"(B06-6270067) and "Cappuccino"(B06-6270068).
We've also made a decision. Our 35 most promising young birds are stopped racing. Because of the large number of bad races, we wouldn't take any risk for the future. Also our best old hens and cocks are stopped. For the same reason.
They can start moulting now.
Last weekend there were 2 races: Bourges(479km) and Marne La Vallée(296km).

On Marne La Vallée our youngsters, meant for the national races, flew their first middle distance race. They did it very well! We didn't exspect it because before they flew only Quievrain(98km). Because of the problems with the bird flu, we didn't race them in the other direction(Germany).
We split up our youngsters. The young cocks flew in ZAV(South Antwerp), they young hens in Union Antwerpen.
In Union Antwerpen we began against 1,454 birds: 9, 10, 13, 17, 18, 19, 30, 32, 36, 39, 40, 48,... and a total of 34 prizes on 44 entered birds.
In ZAV(South Antwerp) against 1,231 youngsters: 4, 5, 21, 24, 26, 33, 43, 45, 47, 58,... and 33 prizes on 47 entered birds.
These results were above our exspectations!
Our first bird was B07-6221069. On the two previous (training)races she was two times our 2° bird. For this race she was our first nominated. Also her brother was there, B07-6221280. Two birds to keep an eye on.
Our second bird was B07-6221239. She's coming from a son of Porto(B03-6287006) x sister of "Bosko"(B03-6287052).
Our third bird was B07-6221204. She's a daughter of "Jericha"(B05-6234046), who flew on the same day on Bourges very well.
